Fans of the hit series ‘Money Heist’ may just be bracing themselves for a big comeback, with a newly released teaser reigniting speculation about a possible sixth season. The makers on Wednesday, dropped a teaser on the official Netflix España handle with the caption, “The dream continues. The universe of ‘Money Heist’ expands.”With the official handle sharing the post, with the clip of Alvaro Morte’s return as Professor, accompanied by a host of people in red jumpsuits and Salvador Dalí masks, a new version of the series’ theme track Bella Ciao plays in the background. The streamer previously hinted that the franchise is entering a much larger expansion phase rather than simply announcing a direct continuation of the original show. In a statement accompanying the teaser, Netflix described the series as a story that “never stopped growing, evolving and surprising” audiences, adding that “the revolution never ends.”While the platform stopped short of officially confirming if fans can expect a ‘Money Heist Season 6’, the teaser has sparked speculation that a show involving an original character could be in development.Spanish media reports have also fuelled speculation about the franchise’s future direction. According to reports by El País, Vancouver Media, the production company founded by ‘Money Heist’ creator Álex Pina, is reportedly developing a four-episode mini-series centred on Colonel Tamayo, played by Fernando Cayo. If confirmed, the project would mark another major character-focused spin-off.Since its debut, Money Heist has evolved from a Spanish crime drama into one of Netflix’s biggest global streaming phenomena. The original series followed a group of robbers orchestrating elaborate heists involving the Royal Mint of Spain and later the Bank of Spain.
