In one of the segments, while the duo was on stage, the Mother Mary actor called out to her mother, who was attending the ceremony to support her daughter.
Hilariously, however, Hathaway ended up getting schooled “in front of a billion people,” as she later joked. When she pointed her mother out in the audience, the actress excitedly said, “Hi, Mom, you look so beautiful.” However, when Kate McCauley Hathaway stood up, she quickly corrected her daughter’s posture in a hilarious moment.“Annie, honey, stand up straight,” Kate quipped while smiling at her daughter, leaving everyone in the venue in splits.The scripted moment quickly turned into a relatable mother-daughter exchange as Hathaway responded, “Okay Mom, I get the note, please sit down,” while continuing the segment with a smile on her face.
