Karnataka State Police has started the recruitment process for 3,395 Police Constable (Civil) vacancies. The notification was issued on June 5, 2026.Candidates who have passed PUC/Class 12 or an equivalent qualification are eligible to apply. The notification also recognises certain equivalent qualifications, including Class 12 examinations conducted by CBSE, ISC and other state boardsCandidates must be at least 18 years old as on the last date of submitting the application. The upper age limit is 33 years for General category candidates, while applicants belonging to SC, ST, Category-I, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B categories can apply up to the age of 35 years. For candidates from tribal communities residing in Karnataka’s forest areas, the maximum age limit is 38 years. The notification also provides age relaxation for eligible in-service candidates and certain other categories as per government rules.Candidates belonging to the General category as well as Categories 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B will have to pay an application fee of Rs 750. For SC, ST, Category-I, ex-servicemen and transgender candidates, the application fee has been fixed at Rs 500. The fee must be paid online while submitting the application form and will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Karnataka Police Constable Recruitment 2026: Selection process
The selection process for Karnataka Police Constable recruitment will be conducted in several stages, including a written examination, Physical Standard Test (PST), Endurance Test (ET), medical examination and preparation of the final merit list. The written examination will be held in offline OMR mode and will consist of 100 questions carrying a total of 100 marks. Questions will be asked from subjects such as general knowledge, science, geography, history, the Constitution of India, the national freedom movement, mental ability and moral education. Candidates must secure at least 30 marks to qualify for the next stage of the recruitment process. As part of the physical standards, male candidates must have a minimum height of 168 cm. Female and transgender candidates should have a minimum height of 157 cm and a minimum weight of 45 kg. Separate physical standards have been prescribed for candidates belonging to notified tribal areas and ex-servicemen. Candidates selected through the recruitment process will undergo nine months of basic police training and will be placed on probation for a period of two years and six months. The post carries a pay scale of Rs 37,500 to Rs 76,100.
