CBSE extends re-evaluation portal session time after students report difficulties

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended session time limits on its Post-Result Activities portal after receiving feedback from students who faced difficulties while accessing the platform. The portal, which allows students to apply for post-result services such as obtaining scanned copies of answer sheets and reporting evaluation-related issues, witnessed heavy traffic soon after it went live. According to CBSE, around 14,000 users accessed the portal simultaneously on the first day, while more than 28,000 submissions were made within a few hours. The high volume of traffic was further compounded by a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack. CBSE said the portal faced around 1.5 million malicious requests within two minutes, leading to technical disruptions for some users. As a result, several students reported issues. Some users also experienced blank screens, unexpected logouts and display problems on mobile devices. To address these concerns, CBSE has increased the portal’s session duration. The board said the move will give students more time to verify personal details, complete applications and report discrepancies without worrying about session timeouts.CBSE also strengthened the portal’s security and technical infrastructure. A special task force involving security experts from government institutions, along with specialists from IIT Madras and IIT Kanpur, was deployed to help stabilise the system and protect it from cyberattacks.Students can report missing pages in answer sheets, including blank pages without numbering or missing supplementary sheets and graphs. They can also flag scanned copies that are too blurred to read properly. In addition, students can report assessment-related issues, such as answers that were not evaluated or cases where a script was marked using a different question paper series.
