KOLKATA: After TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee was allegedly beaten and pelted with stones and eggs during his visit to West Bengal’s Sonarpur to meet families of post-poll violence victims, he said the entire incident had been captured on camera and vowed to move court over the attack.“They wanted to kill me. The whole incident has been captured on camera. We will definitely let the high court know about this. We will also let the governor know about this. I will definitely move to court, ” said TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee.Stones, shoes and eggs were allegedly hurled at the TMC MP by unidentified individuals, who also assault him while shouting “thief” slogans. Later, the Belle Vue Hospital issued a statement on Banerjee’s statement, saying, “There is no serious physical sign of injury except for bruises on the chest. Patient is talking and is full conscious and oriented. Hence, the patient does no require any admission,” as quoted by ANI. Banerjee was later seen being escorted away from the area wearing a police helmet, with his shirt torn during the incident.“They threw a brick, threw an egg, and pelted stones.
