Tom Hardy ‘Not Fired’ From ‘MobLand’; co-star Helen Mirren reacts to viral buzzContrary to viral rumours and online speculation, actor Tom Hardy has not been fired from ‘MobLand’ Season 3.Amid buzz that the actor would not be returning for the potential next season of the hit crime drama series, new reports on Variety have confirmed that the actor is not on his way out. According to the report, sources close to the production confirmed that discussions are currently underway to ensure Hardy’s return as fixer Harry Da Souza, with insiders inisiting, “Tom was not fired, the door is not closed for Season 3 and things are being worked through creatively.“

The report further adds that the allegations against Hardy were not entirely untrue however, sources also claimed frustrations existed on multiple sides. “He’s difficult, but he’s a movie star,” a second production source reportedly said to the portal.

Helen Mirren supports Tom Hardy

Amid the drama and growing online buzz surrounding the actor’s alleged behaviour on set, actress and co-star Helen Mirren appears to have publicly shown support for Hardy. The Oscar-winning actress, who plays the role of Maeve Harrigan in the series, shared a picture of Hardy on her Instagram alongside a heartfelt message. “Love you now and always,” Mirren wrote, signing off simply as “Helen.”The post came shortly after earlier reports claimed Mirren and fellow cast member Pierce Brosnan had allegedly grown frustrated over extended delays during filming.Back in December, the actress also shared a post, declaring her love for her co-star. In the post, she revealed that ‘Things I love’. Sharing a photo of her hunky co-star, she wrote, “Tom Hardy for his brilliance onscreen, his dedication off screen his good heart and especially the Hardy Hugs I get when onset with him which is not nearly enough in my opinion.” In the same post she also shared that one of the things she ‘hated’ was ‘bad journalism’.

‘MobLand’ Season 3 in the works

Season 2 of the Paramount+ drama has already wrapped filming but is yet to premiere, while production on a possible third season is expected to begin later this year.A production source told Variety, “I’m sure Guy is probably pushing David Glasser to make it work. Guy likes working with Tom.”The latest clarification comes after reports emerged claiming Hardy had allegedly fallen out with writer Jez Butterworth and producer David Glasser during filming. While Variety noted that tensions behind the scenes were reportedly real, the outlet stated Hardy had not officially been removed from the project and that all parties were still attempting to resolve their creative differences.Directed in part by Guy Ritchie, ‘MobLand’ follows the powerful Harrigan crime family and features an ensemble cast including Brosnan, Mirren, Paddy Considine and Joanne Froggatt.
