In classrooms, group activities, interviews and everyday conversations, the ability to speak clearly has become one of the most valuable skills a child can build. Confidence does not always arrive naturally, especially in the middle-school and teen years. For many students, it grows only when it is practiced, encouraged and shaped in the right environment. That is the idea behind this 3-week expert-led live masterclass by The Times of India, designed for students from Grades 6 to 10 and scheduled from 06th June 26 to 21st June 26.Built for young learners who want to strengthen communication, personality and self-belief, the programme blends live teaching with practical exercises, role plays and real-world practice. The focus is not just on listening, but on doing.
A programme built around participation
This is not a passive online class where children log in, listen and forget. The masterclass is structured as an interactive experience with 7 live online sessions spread across 3 weeks. Each class is designed to keep children active, involved and responding in real time. The curriculum goes beyond public speaking alone. Students will work on self-confidence, communication, body language, storytelling and social skills, abilities that matter in school now and later in interviews, presentations and leadership roles. For many children, this may be the first structured space where they begin to find their voice. The sessions are practical by design. Children will take part in speaking exercises, confidence-building tasks, role plays and a final showcase presentation, giving them a chance to apply what they learn in a supportive setting.
Open to beginners as well
One of the most appealing aspects of the programme is that it does not assume prior experience. It is open to complete beginners as well as children who have some exposure to public speaking but want to grow more confident and polished. That makes it especially useful for students who are shy, hesitant to speak in groups or unsure how to express themselves clearly. Rather than pushing them too hard too soon, the programme is designed to build ease step by step. The larger goal is simple: to help children feel more capable when speaking, presenting and participating in everyday life.
Flexible timing for busy families
Summer schedules can be unpredictable, and the programme has been planned with that in mind. To make attendance easier, the same class will be held twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. If a child misses one slot, they can attend the alternate session on the same day. However, there are no session recordings, and if both sessions are missed, neither a makeup class nor a recording will be available. Regular participation therefore matters.
For certification, a minimum attendance of 5 sessions is mandatory. Certificates will also be awarded based on overall performance, participation and achievements throughout the programme.
Final showcase and recognition
The masterclass ends with a final showcase presentation, giving students the opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned. For children, that moment can be especially meaningful. It is not only a chance to perform, but also to see how far they have come in a short period of time.Participants will receive certification from The Times of India. There is also an opportunity to be featured on The Times of India, while top performers will receive exciting rewards. Those additions make the programme feel rewarding, but the real value lies in what children carry forward after it ends.Confidence is not only about speaking louder or standing at the front of a room. It is about answering without fear, asking questions freely, expressing ideas clearly and moving through school with a steadier sense of self. For students in Grades 6 to 10, that kind of support can shape not just how they speak, but how they see themselves. For parents looking to invest in more than marks, in a child’s voice, presence and self-belief, this 3-week masterclass offers a strong place to begin.
