TN Class X board supplementary exam applications to commence at schools from May 26

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu school education department will commence the applications for 2026 class X state board supplementary examination from May 26 (Tuesday). The exams will be held from July 8 to 15.School students who failed in the exam or were absent can apply for the failed subjects through their respective schools. Applications can be submitted in person at the school from May 26 (Tuesday) to June 6 (Sunday) between 11 am and 5 pmPrivate candidates wishing to apply for the exam must apply through service centres established district-wise on the same dates and timings — details of which will be made available at www.dge.tn.gov.in.Private candidates must carry a copy of their Aadhaar card and passport-size photograph for applications. A fee of Rs 195 must be paid by the candidate in cash at the respective centres (at schools for school students) to apply for the exam, irrespective of the number of examsAdditionally, the department has launched a special permission scheme for candidates who fail to apply between the said dates. The applications can be made on Jun 9 and 10. These applications must be submitted online through the school or service centre, along with a fee of Rs 695 — as a ‘tatkal’ fee of Rs 500 will be charged for these students.However, students of govt and aided schools who are applying for the exam need not pay this tatkal fee. Additionally, students who failed or were absent in the science practical exams need to obtain an acknowledgement slip to take up the supplementary exam. Candidates must visit the concerned district educational officer (secondary grade) between May 26 (Tuesday) and Jun 9, pay a fee of Rs 125 and obtain an acknowledgement slip. “Only candidates producing this acknowledgement slip will be permitted to attend the Science Practical Training Class.
