Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph are back together for ‘Drishyam 3’ which is the latest installment in one of Malayalam cinema’s most successful thriller franchises. The new film continues the story of Georgekutty, a character who first appeared in ‘Drishyam’ in 2013 and returned in ‘Drishyam 2’ in 2021.
‘Drishyam 3’ worldwide pre-sales near 31 crore
The film has generated exceptional momentum ahead of its theatrical debut. According to film analyst AB George, Drishyam 3 has already earned Rs 28.90 crore gross through worldwide advance bookings. With Rs 28.90 crore already locked in, ‘Drishyam 3’ has surpassed the advance booking total of Mammootty’s ‘Patriot’ which stood at Rs 28.60 crore worldwide.The next benchmark is ‘L2: Empuraan’, which reportedly registered Rs 52.5 crore in worldwide advance bookings.
Georgekutty and family face a new threat
The story is expected to revisit unresolved consequences from the earlier films. This time, Georgekutty and his family appear to be confronting their most serious challenge yet.The film also features Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, Murali Gopy, Siddique, Asha Sharath, Santhi Mayadevi, and Veena Nandakumar.
OTT release window
After its theatrical run, ‘Drishyam 3’ is expected to stream on Amazon Prime Video. Reports suggest the makers may opt for a 30 to 35-day theatrical window.If that plan is followed, the suspense thriller could arrive on the platform in late June or early July 2026. Meanwhile, Mohanlal was last seen in ‘Patriot’ starring Mammootty, Nayanthara, Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban and many more.
